So as someone who sees these cars all the time, ive come to the overall conclusion that there are two basic types of people who buy our cars. There are the sports car drivers(like most of us) and there are the luxury car drivers(aka everyone else).
your typical sports car driver is willing to sacrifice a few things, such as a quiet and or smoothe ride, in favor of handling and adrenalin pumping acceleration.
Where as your typical luxury car driver wants everything, but will never use it to its potential. Then complain because its got a tiny rattle, or excessive road noise.
Case in point: last week i had a client bring in an 06 G35 coupe, just had 4 new tires put on (bfg g-force t/a kdw's) complains that there is excessive road noise, and a roaring sound when stopping. After looking at the vehicle i recomend an alignment. I spoke to the client myself and explained to him that because he chose a softer compound, stiff sidewall tire that there was very little i could do about the road noise, but the roaring sound could be taken care of by an alignment and just driving the car until the tires wore down till they were even again. Performed the alingment, and gave it back to the client.
Today he brings it back.....complaining of the same issue. I tell the service writer there is nothing i can do except sell him new tires. The client actually buys them! The writer told me that not 3 hours after picking the car up with the new tires on it, the client called him back complaining that the car didnt feel like it handled right.
This drives me nuts!

eh... can someone tell my why my car is so sticky on these toyo t1r's? I don't think I like it... I mean my car shouldn't be able to turn like this at high speeds without slipping. I want my money back.
that sucks man, reason I don't work with people... people suck.

Goodyears are as bad as Continentals to me... IMO, the BFGs are great tires for track days, but that's about it. IMO, Toyo, Hankook, and Kumho are the same as the BFGs - sticky, cheap tires good for about half the tread life, which makes them great for track days.
I just stick with Bridgestones - RE050A, or RE760 if you're on a budget. Dunlop would be my next pick. I've had a few sets of very pricey Pirellis that I've absolutely loved. Yokohamas have usually handled very well although they didn't always last too long, and for the price, there were better all around options available. While these tires are much pricier, they tend to last through two sets of the cheaper alternatives while offering superior overall performance and comfort.
And while I've heard great things about Michelins, I've never tried them yet, and I doubt I'd ever care to as they don't seem that impressive.

And then there are those who don't know how to work on their own cars! OoOOh!
HAHAHA ouch!!
Not everyone ;-)
I can deal with someone driving an automatic....as long as they actually DRIVE it. I saw an old man and his wife the other day on 75 southbound, in an 04 or 03 dark blue automatic. He wanted to play, got on on the Hi 5. Have to say he was ballsy.
Besides it took me 3 weeks to find a 6speed in good enough condition that i just had to have it.
