Not a bad idea: Paint protection film (@ Earmark Car Audio)
with our paint being such a weak point on our cars, this might be a good idea.
Might seriously look into this once I get an aftermarket front bumper..

Is anyone familiar with this?

ive had to fix several cars if u ever wanna take it off.cayennes would always use those at park place porsche and when theyd remove it 4 whatever reason it would take the paint rite with it.it starts 2 look foggy after a lot of **** hits it too.
I'm with Drone..this would be a terrible idea in my opinion. You will trap small amounts of dust under the film, it will almost certainly yellow or discolor, and will end up making the paint underneath look like a different color compared to the rest of the car if/when you take it off.
I have yet to meet a single person who is totally satisfied with their clear bra or other such film.
for what it's worth, the "weakness" can be corrected with a solid buff and some coats of Zaino (along with regular hand washing).

Trust me, i understand that with a proper buff + "Zaino" the paint can be restored but i was just seeing if anyone has actually tried the film.
I take it as a no go

I did the hood, fenders, & mirror bras on my own vehicle, I drive everywhere and rock chips are a daily part of my life. It has held up quite well so far. If you do not get a high quality film (such as 3M) you will run into discoloration issues. So far so good for me even in this heat we've been having. Only problem I ran into is that nobody makes on for my Kenstyle front bumper, so I had the body shop mix in an Armorcoat paint additive for the front bumper. I still manage to get a chip here and there but it looks more like a tiny dent instead of a chunk of paint missing.
I say do it for the daily driver non-show cars as long as you use the good stuff.

I had my tint done at the earmark in Plano. They used two pieces for the back window as well as defective tint. Needless to say, I had to go to the Addison store to get it fixed. For what they charged, they shouldn't be skimping and using bad window tint.
Since the paint protection film should be one piece so you should be ok. Make sure to really look over the work once it is done.

They were showing this product on a G37 at Cars and Coffee, some other personal cars had it also.
If someone were to get this, their best bet would be to cover the whole front of the car(bumper, hood, fenders) so it'll blend in better. The ones that cover half the front are really noticeable, esp. when the film starts to get cloudy.
