PS3 FTMFW! I can't totally knock 360 since it does have some good games - most of which are also on the PS3 (Halo being the obvious exception right now, but I have hated that franchise since day 1). I have never had any multi-player issues, so that point is also void in my opinion.
(I'm patiently waiting for Tony to come in here and go on his PC-owns-all rant

im gonna go out on a limb and say PC doesn't own all because u can't lay on your couch and play it with wireless controllers, also their are less games and fewer genres
I say wii owns all because I hacked it and now i can play any old game for free
its funny the two easiest systems to hack(wii and psp) have the worse selection of games
can you hack 360 yet? I know you could hack original xbox

Haha.... I tested my PS2 and it is still working. There was still a game in there; I guess from the last time I played it.... NCAA 2004! It's been a few years since I fired it up.
Let me know if you need controllers (I have 3 wired and 1 wireless, but not sure if they all fully work). I also have the power cable and video cable, but the video cable only has an S-video connection.

Brit, wait no longer....
as far as PCs go, DOMENIC has the illest rig I've seen..
I don't see how you can even compare PCs to consoles when PCs are ever upgradable.. Most people use processing power and graphics as baselines to determine "better systems" because gameplay should be the same across the board..
If that's the measuring stick, I don't think anyone w/ 2 hemispheres in their brain will argue that the PC has both on lock (based on your individual system specs)..
For example, I have blur on both Xbox 360, and PC.. And I've concluded that the only thing the xbox 360 has over the PC version is the number of player playing at any given time online.. Graphics, smoothness, and even loading speed is better on the PC..
In order to play "games for windows" now you must have a controller based off of the Xbox 360 API.. So you CAN in fact play on wireless controllers for your PC, they work much like your wireless mouse does.. They have a receiver that plugs into your USB port, and work over radio frequency.
Get yourself a 24" or 30" monitor, or connect via HDMI to your TV, and you've got yourself a grand ol' time courtesy of Bill Gates, no one will know it's not either a PS3 or xbox..
Yes, you can hack xbox 360s, for quite some time.. However, now w/ bios updates and what not, you can't play games online if you have a hacked xbox360 because they'll ban your xbox live account for life. So if you just enjoy playing the single player version of games and could care less about online play, then there ya go..
I have the xbox 360, and (once again using processing power and graphics) the "better system" debate provides the following...
1. PS3 - better graphics slower game play because of enhanced rendering
2. xbox360 - larger online community (even though it's a paid community), more serious online gamers (argue w/ me and then think about whenever you see televised gaming competitions, what system are they playing on), faster loading times, smother gameplay
So if it's primarily graphics you're after.. PS3 hands down.. If it's the fun of the game, and game selection, I'd still go w/ xbox360.. Which a larger online community aids to replayability of the game as well.. People are still playing older versions of COD online on xbox and Gears of War 2 as well as Battlefield Bad Company 1 and various Halos..

PC is a better platform if you have the money to build one that can handle new games, otherwise you are left playing choppy games at 640x480 resolution. you have to shell out the cash for a 30" monitor in addition to your HD TV which you already have to watch TV. Even after all that if you are a true fan of video games you still need to buy console systems so you can play games like Gran Turismo 5, Uncharted, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime, Metal Gear Solid, Zelda and a whole crap load of other games that won't be out for PC until emulators catch up to the current console technology. So If you have a PS3 anyway to play GT5 you may as well just live with COD on PS3. Its too bad microsoft only comes out with games that have no value once a newer version comes out.
Basically to sum it up, games like zelda, mega man and mario for NES are still fun today, but you would never be like oh dip y0 lemme dust off my copy of Madden '93 because I want to play a football game. Just like you wouldn't really play Gran Turismo 1 when you could play GT5 or wolfenstien 3d when you could play COD...there are like no games on xbox 360 that will mean anything once the system is outdated. Which is why original Xbox is a usless turd and PS2 is still selling, and also how Wii competes with two systems that **** rape it technology wise.

Hahahaha YES Tony, that was the caliber of response that I was expecting. I honestly agree with every word that you have to say...unfortunately, I just don't have the patience or know-how to completely build a PC from scratch the way I would want it. I have always wanted to learn though...maybe that will be a project somewhere down the line.
EDIT: I love how my humble request to borrow a PS2 turned into this haha

I built my PC, but I still find it more fun to play console games...i have COD4 for my pc, never play it...maybe if i had a desk i would..lol
honestly if you really like video games you need a good pc and all the consoles
