yea, I will go SSD for the OS at some point, I'm just not that worried about it yet... the drive was primarily an I/O decision as it's 6gb/s and I've got the board to support that and the cables as well. And since I don't game that hard all that often and I don't run anything super heavy, I really don't care

even the WD velociraptors don't max out sata150 so there is no way you'll find a mech drive that needs anything higher than sata300... only thing that needs sata600 is the new sandforce controlled SSDs, which brings me to a little something I got in the mail today



read/write @ 525/500 mbps compared to mech hard drives that barely touch 100...

I'm so stoked to trow this in to my desktop at home, I've been running a slower one in my laptop for 3 months and its night and day difference. I feel like my laptop is faster than my beefy desktop because of the SSD. and I have a 300gb velociraptor in my desktop so its not a slow drive.

Yea, I know, but I like preparing. The drive is a cheap start. Have no fear. And what did that little gem set you back?

Hearing VooDoo always reminds me of my stint at UTD, when 3DFX headquarters was right there in Richardson.

lol i was in the atec building with my photoshop course when the xps 700 systems first came out preloaded with battlefield 2...madness, where my addiction started

lol yea i was in the first class when they started, did the basic and advanced course...apparently the class has gotten a lot better sense then. I go to utd now and its like a completely different school
