thats not that bad really....individual for 7 days is only 385.00....most will spend that easily in hotel cost for a 2-3 days and you have a full week with everything you need.

If you break that out to 3 families thats 2600 for a family of 5-6 at least + some friends.

something else I found.

Average family of 6 spends for a week vacation.

"We are a family of 6 as well. When my kids were younger and we drove to our destinations (Florida, Colorado, South Carolina) , rented condos, and ate meals in the condos we could get buy with $4000 or less for a week. When we travel to all inclusives in Mexico and Punta Cana we spend around $8500 for a week. On the 7 day cruises we have taken we have spent between $6000-8000."

Man...when i have some time and money to blow...you can find me on the beaches in Philippines for a couple months maximizing my dollars and possibly taking random trips to Amsterdam, Dubai, Thailand, and other beautiful countries outside of USA.

Well, I question your math honestly. Worst case, in June obviously, with 10 people (if we can get that many people), that would be $770 a person for a week. Not a terrible price considering what I pay for my annual river float trip, but still not great. And that's a huge assumption to get 10 people to go. Nice place sure and I totally understand that you're getting what you pay for. Doesn't change the fact that not many people are willing to spend $800 for lodging alone for a week with 9 other people.

EDIT: Amen to faiz... I'd rather spend the money OUTSIDE of the US...

I totally understand but I tossed out 20 people since it sleeps 20...not 10. so of course it would cost more. I was just hypothetically speaking if we could get 20 people that would be fun. Even have some of the houston/austin guys go. Anyways understand about going outside the US however I have priced that multiple times to the places FAIZZ mentioned above and its to damn expensive once you factor in airfare and so forth. looked at a few of these places for my first honeymoon....

I just did a quick pricing for march when season should be good. My wife has tons of family in Philippines (get to stay for free as long as I bring gifts) and the resorts are well priced for the stay compared to other places. The plane ticket is $1068 round trip which is not bad at all and if you do some research of where to go and trying to setup your trip to maximize on flight schedule during non-peak times. The food you will eat will be better than anything you have ate till now. You could setup additional legs for your trip to depart from Philippines and visit other countries as well in the surrounding areas (Japan, China, Dubai). I am just dreaming here so you guys enjoy the sights and please take some pictures for me

Edit: Being true to my roots I would recommend you try to subsidize your trips as a slinger. Take some electronics like Iphones, macbooks, unlocked GSM phones and other gadgets like ipods and electronics to flip for a decent profit. Use profits for personal gain and pleasure at expense of suckers......
