im not completely IT based on my Job but I do IT Work along with sales, support, everything else at HP. Just moved over to a new job within in the company so I work from home now.

Its a shame I needed my degree to get the job I have now and I barely make 30k, this **** sucks

 

I kept what I was doing besides the actual ordering of software for the customer..that moved off to a service Desk organization but I moved into my moms organization under another one of her managers doing software licensing now and engineering testing as well as new packages that we deploy to the environment.

 

wow, so I guess they don't care that you report to your mom in some way? my company STRICTLY does not allow any sort of family related reporting structure. So much so that I have been changed to report directly to my boss's boss since my boss is engaged to my sister ha!

And James, that does suck considering I don't have a degree. It did make things a hair difficult in finding a job when I had to, but when you know people, you can circumvent some of the "requirements"

 

technically with where my mom is at within the company shes like 2 levels above one of her managers. As long as your not a direct report within HP its not that big a problem anymore.
