So, this has been tossed around before, over and over and over. it never works long term. So let me take the liberty to break it down a little. Every week, a select handful of people drive out to Lee's, and I truly appreciate Lee's letting us meet there and giving us a place to hang out.

But let's face it, none of us really lives close to that area, it's not near the highway, the food is.... well... selective.. and there's no alcohol for those of us that require a couple beers to wind down. We dont mingle with any of the other people, and strictly just talk to other G guys.

Well, I chatted with Yash and Bluebob the other day, and well frankly, we want to start meeting in the closer area. I personally feel as if more people would come out, and people like Rob, Yash, Jack, etc who sometimes dont have as much time to spend at a meet can come for a bit, and wont have to drive to BFE.

So with that, I want to make this a process that's easy to follow. We have tried this in the past where people name a place, we go one time, and never go again. If we can consistently make it to Lee's, we should be able to make it to a place in Plano, Addison, North Dallas, etc.

I know we have people living all over the metroplex, but let's face it, it will have to be in a location where the majority of us have access. Doesnt make sense to have 12 people drive to grapevine, where 2 people can drive to las colinas or addison, etc.

SO i will throw out my suggestions or locations:

1. Las Colinas (635 Macarthur area)- Lots of parking in front of lots of restaurants and sports bars, this is not far from the tollway or Addison, etc. It's about 15 mins.

2. Addison (Beltline Marsh Midway Tollway area) Obvious choice for many places locally. I personally like Logan's cause the parking lot is huge and well lit, and they have girls there and drinks and food.

3. 75 and Spring Creek Area (richardson I guess) - Some restaurants with big parking lots over there as well

These are ideas, please feel free to chime in with your thoughts and opinions.
Regardless of what we decide, I just want a place to hang out with the G/Z guys, shoot the **** and just sit back and do what we do.

 

I am down with number 2! Addison is further from me and Lees is close but like you said on FB.. Lees is a depressing area, not upbeat and the food is terribad and there is no alcohol to wash it down.

I am down with Logans, the food is decent and the parking lot is huuuuuuge and Addison has some nice eye candy as well.

 

dont you live in frisco? Wouldnt addison be much closer than all the way on jupiter rd, garland?

 

The Mazda guys meet at jakes in addison on Thursdays and it's a good spot... smaller parking lot but there's a huge one next to it, but it's dark. food is good and the girls that work there are win.

But i do like Logan's location and staff

 

Nah.. I live in East Plano and work in Frisco.. Yea something like a restaurant would work well mainly because we have a few under 21 and I don't believe they can get into Logans.

 

who is under 21 besides Jared? and i dont think he comes out.

I'm down for the one in Addison. Driving from Frisco all the way to Garland sucks. And I wasn't very fond of the food either.

Obviously I will throw in my opinion since I'm a regular.

I like the weekly meet...but I'm not a fan of the drive to Garland. Emad summed up my thoughts pretty well (we only talk to each other, no one lives close to Lees, etc.)

I vote for Addison. Everyone knows where it is, it's convenient, and it's close for everyone who I already know comes out on a regular basis. There are plenty of restaurants with large bars that would accommodate the younger guys (we can NOT meet somewhere that would exclude the underage guys...that would be messed up). Houlihans on Beltline has a huge lot next to it and great drinks.

Overall I vote for a restaurant in Addison.

anyways, addison gets my vote, so many of us are in the area. just pick a place where I'm not gonna be dragging my cats getting in to the lot.
