To do defensive driving, you have to be under +24mph of the speed limit. to do deferred judification you have to be under +30mph... so basically, at this point, I would pay $290, admit guilt and get it on my record since I dont have a choice. I was going 38 over, so she said although the judge usually doesnt waive it off your record and let you do probation, it's worth a shot.

It is def worth a shot since i dont want **** on my record. The judge is open from mon-thu 8am-4pm, recommended to get there at 730am.

they wont have our citations in the office for prob a week or so, so we cant go see judge until then. we have 30 days to take care of, contrary to the ten days written on the ticket.

So my next step is to either research some lawyers, and wait till they get the tickets in the office, and go see the judge.
whats the deal with raider?? did he get ahold of the other guy? I have a couple of phone calls into a Lawyer I used awhile back when I had an 80-40 ticket.

+1 for changing all the fluids... always good. Maybe a timing belt if that hasn't been done.
I do somewhat frequent drives and rallies, often with much faster cars, and the occasional road course track day, so yes, my car sees over 5500rpm a good bit on those events. The VQ has a timing chain, and from everything I've read and heard, should not need replacing until/if it breaks. It's supposedly designed to last the life of the engine.

I would advise everyone to get a lawyer.. You are still going to have to pay some money for this however the most important thing is keeping it off your record. That is what a lawyer will help you do. There is no way this will get dismissed but you could at least try to keep it off your record.

awesome. Hopefully I'll see you out. I'm not aware of rallies around here. Do they do that fairly local.. tx? I'm looking forward to track days and autox real soon.

I just dropped $$$ on busings and the mrev. I'll probably get the spacer eventually but for now I'm spent. Got whitelines all around except spl pro solid rear diff bushings. I hear it's all at PITA to change.... might take a couple weekends.

Thanks for the info on the timing chain. I need to change my ac belt so I'm going to be changing both belts real soon. Glad to hear there isn't a timing belt! For real!

As far as drives, I just follow a few boards like this one of other car clubs and join in occasionally. Although due to things like what happened here, and to other groups, I'm doing it less and less. As far as rallies, the SCCA does gimmick rallies locally throughout the year. They are not fast, but it's fun and challenging. Otherwise, all I know of is the Dustball Rally which I did in August and am co-driving another car for the shorter one this March. It generally begins/ends in El Paso though, so it's still quite a ways away. Although the 1500 this July is even longer and will end in Vegas.

I don't want to keep hijacking this thread, but can you send me a PM with more info on the bushings? i.e. what you recommend, benefits, what is worth messing with or not, etc. As my car ages a bit, I'm probably not far off from doing something like this.
