Laptop advice?
Along with Jack and Blake, I've heard others with good things to say about Asus. I have zero familiarity with the brand so I will be doing some research into them. However, at first glance they look like a solid choice.
I am currently looking into the Asus U43JC model. It looks pretty sweet and fits the bill for almost all of my requirements (minus the desire for a SSD). I'll probably just swap in a SSD after I get the laptop.
Any thoughts or opinions?

Go with alienware m14x and find some good coupons to get 20% off using EPP Dell or keep an eye out for dell outlet and 15% coupons additional. You will get sandy bridge cpu and GT555m video card along with 4-5 hours battery.

That is what I like the best right now out of all the laptops and desktop I have. Its kind of on the expensive side though.

I've had a lot of good experiences with the IBM thinkpad line... I honestly think they've fallen off with the move to Lenovo...
This turned into quite a discussion last night... we'll see what comes of it
+1 on anything Asus...

That u43j is a nice choice Brit.
Almost all Asus laptops come with a neat feature that throttles up or down your computing speed based on how you want to conserve your battery on the fly.
