Yeah the league was locked at 14 as we had a couple "late entries"

from my 365 project..

6/365 - Draft day

This will be my first year of fantasy football and MAN have I heard some stories.. Hanging on the output of EVERY game because you have players all over the place.. I'm overachieving by being in 3 leagues.. I'm prolly in over my head I know and will be spending a LOT of time throwing things at the screen..

Wanted to do something fun and new today.. Did overhead lighting just because the amount of space I had to work with was VERY cramped.. Also wanted to work more wide today than normal so I broke out the 12-24mm F4 Tokina lens.. I normally only use this lens for automotive rig shots, but love the sense of depth it's giving this shot so I'm sure I'm gonna be using this more often now.

Is this really the first time you've ever done a fantasy football league? Who else is a newb? Kinda surprised on both sides... who hasn't played and who has... haha

And what's up with covering up the star? Copyright infringement?

Cool pic.

I hope you're ready! The great thing about FF is that anyone can win it in any given year. I've seen plenty of newbs, auto-drafted teams, and wives win FF leagues. However, the more experience/skill you have, the more consistent you will be from year to year. I have played for 15+ years, and usually play in 2-3 leagues each year. I don't win all that often, but I typically finish in the top 2-3 every year in every league. At some point winning comes down to luck, so you have a chance even if you are new at it. Being near the top every year and having a chance to win year in-year out is more of a skill. Just my 0.02 cents....

My biggest pieces of advice:
1. Be prepared for the draft. Have some general strategy, and an idea of who you want to pick. Just using someone else's crappy list is a lot more a detriment than anything. Do a couple mock drafts to try out some different strategies if you are not sure.
2. Stay active once the season starts. Stay on top of the waiver wire, and possible trades. These are the two things that will end up determining who wins the league. It's not about who makes the most moves, it is about who makes the best moves (quality over quantity). Also, stay on top of injuries, depth chart changes, etc.
3. Take your emotions out of it. If you love/hate a certain team or player, you have to leave that out of it. If you really want to win, it comes down to who can score the most points; not who you like/dislike the most.

Amen! And that really hot admin that has NO CLUE what she's doing. The one that asks if Superbowl Sunday is played on a Saturday night. (yes, it really was asked and no she wasn't blonde)

I'm definitely a follower of football, and have played other "games" but yeah.. This is my first year playing Fantasy football.. Oh I've definitely got a strategy, and have done mock drafts as well as am in 2 other leagues besides this one (have already drafted my players for those) so I know what to expect as far as drafting goes.. We'll see how the season goes..

And Bluebob, I could care less about copyright infringement, I only like DeMarcus Ware, I'm a Steeler fan.. Always have been..

I'd bring a lappie if I were you.. They're providing wifi, I doubt they're providing the devices..

I can't make it out like I planned.. I have a house full of sick folks (kids and wife came home sick today too... ) I think it best I stay home and take care of them.. But I'll definitely be online..
