Hello to all Dallas members ! I have a question my coupe had gotten rear ended pretty bad, damaged my tails, quarter panel, bumper, trunk, even exhaust sounds pretty different but i was wondering if this guys insurance pays for the repairs would i be able to tell the body shop to get different tails and exhaust instead of oem taillights and exhaust. I would like to get the JDM taillights and a x02 exhaust. They would both be cheaper to get than getting OEM parts according this estimate sheet. So I was wondering if this would be possible?

 

Most shops will work with you. Just go in and ask beforehand find the shop that will and let them do the estimate.

Im suprised they didnt total that seems like theres a lot more damage then just the rear it looks structural

 

Im thinking about going to the shop in the sticky in foruns called texas body works. Or would you know about a shop that will help me out.

If it was structural would it drive different? I still drive it now and it drives normal, its the only way i have to work and school but im waiting on the insurance to verify something so i can take it to a shop and get a rental.

 

You know i look at it more and think the only thing that could have got messed up would be the tank. Sorry im not a texas guy the locals will have to chime in for that.


Most places will do aftermarket though if you request it. Just find a shop that will work with you.

Hmmm now that you meantion the tank. Idk if my gas level sensor messed out or what but I used almost 20 dollars in gas in a day and I hardly went anywhere? I put in 20 in the morning and got back from work with the gas light on. About how much does 20 get you on the tank?

 

^+1 Definitely hit him up. As far as I know he still has my bumper and skirts that I have yet to pick up from months and months ago . I also have that same trunk in my shed. Not sure if you were wanting to go aftermarket on either one of those but if you were sticking to OEM I'd sale them to you cheaper; they're already painted DG. Then maybe you can have a little extra compensation $ left over. If you're interested PM me.

i have a custom cs rear with single exhaust port along with Agency Power exhaust i'll sale ya..

 

I have an OEM Exhaust muffler.....let me know.

 

Good luck and definitely work on going aftermarket...I even got the insurance to pay for my stereo because my changer jammed when I got hit and it was nowhere close to yours....so got a CS replica rear and stereo in the process...
