DIN conversion of the stock Bose stereo system

Hi everyone! I am now facing the famous "CD Err" due to a stuck CD within the changer. Right now both the radio and tape work, but of course only the radio is useful. I would like to know any recommendations for replacing the Bose 6 disc changer (non dual climate or navigation feature) to an aftermarket head unit, leaning towards a double din type. Who in town can I trust for this job or if any members have done this before and willing to perform it with compensation, please let me know.
Thank you for any help.

you would need to get the METRA 03-04 kit or the JDM Double Din. Yes i know how to install everything but not keen on the wiring of the Radio's etc..I would see if maybe SEXYROB could perform the install for you

I read that the Metra has a potential fit issue, meaning the gaps don't line up as well. So I would rather go with JDM - probably a little pricier? I have seen the video on the install but I rather have someone with knowledge and experience do it. By the way, what are all the parts I would need and where would you get them? Hmm wonder what the dealer would charge for everything.

Thanks Phil.....Install cost by dealership on aftermarket stereo is not recommended personally....you can by the kit and we can have someone local install it. We also have a member who works for Car Toys as well...not sure if he still does but I have a few other members I can reference and get you numbers for if you would like.

Is there a DD size head unit that anyone can recommend? I have not done research on what is out there but I would be happy with features like mp3's, aux, decent RMS..so just basic stuff..no real need for tape function like the oem bose :-)

Thanks Deemo. I think I should send them a PM and see if they are up for the task. Not sure if g35man04 has been asking around yet. I was thinking of Amazon but haven't really searched more than that - they have it for 188 shipped with 2 days service.

Install of the actual radio is real easy considering you are bose. You will need the antenna adapter and the metra bose radio harness for aftermarket radios. The time consuming part is you have to disassemble half the dash to get to everything
