This method is performed on.the outside of the lens without taking the headlights apart

there are multiple methods on how to seal the headlights. you could either :

A.) put a paint sealant (preferably Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 or Wolf Gang Paint Sealant) over the headlights with a VERY LIGHT COAT. this will act as a temporary clear coat until you use a wax remover to get it off

B.) Use Minwax Spur Urethane Mixed with Mineral Spirits. You do 1 part Urethane and 1 part mineral spirits in a mixing glass, stir it for about a minute, take a microfiber/sponge/applicator pad, and put a VERY LIGHT COAT over the headlights.

The reason why you would want to put a light coat, is because if a heavy coat is applied your headlights might become too fogged/hazed.

I used choice A just because I dont have the time or patience to mix chemicals and it works just as well as choice B.

Hope this helps!

(P.S. Opti-Coat 2.0 is insanely permanent wax, it will work better but you have to be REALLY careful with it!)

everything
I sanded mine and shot them with clear

100% fixed, they wont haze again

How long does the detail last when you do your method? I was gonna buff mine out completely but I thought since I had leftover clear sitting in the garage I might as well spray them.

depends on which method you use! the urethane method can last for a few years, if you do the half and half right. if you use the sealant method, about a year or possibly more. but keep in mind, oxidation can always go over clear coat! just like on car paint, clear coat can still oxidize depending on how you treat your car! i would recommend for our cars, every 4-6 months you use meguiars headlight restoration on your headlights and wipe them down just to clear them up or maintain them. very similar concept to re-waxing a car. the bottle of meguiars headlight restoration is $15 at autozone, so its nothing tremendous!

hope that answered your question, and any further questions you might have in the future haha

I cant speak highly enough of Chris's detail skills. I just bought a 2008 Civic (black paint) and the previous owner obviously ran the car through a lot of car washes and it had a lot of swirl marks as a result. Chris worked his magic on the car and the paint looks better now than my buddies black Ferrari F430 who gets his car professionally detailed at Boardwalk Ferrari. I am truly amazed at the results he was able to achieve.

I don't have any before pics of the car but this will let you see how awesome it looks now after the detail!
