China Day 2, White Guy in Shanghai
Hey gents. Can't reach facebook from China so thought I'd troll on here, just have to keep away from the members only area or China will ban g35driver too.
First impression, everyone is a damn hipster around here. Sorry Emad (if you're still reading the DFW board) you've got nothing on these people. People with glasses without lenses. Makes me wonder if they'll go to frame-less glasses next.
Shanghai is neat. People shoot off fireworks every night for no apparent reason. Bis @$$ ones too. All the ground floors of the apartments are filled with shops and food stalls all smaller then the size of a small garage. They line the streets with them.
I think the homely women need some kid of permit to walk the streets because 99 out of 100 women are gorgeous. I'm not in whats considered the downtown area as well, that's probably 999 out of 1000. The elderly ones don't get a free pass either.
Weather's been crappy since I got here so sorry no pics. I think that's what's keeping the smog away though, so probably not a bad thing. I've been told not to eat the food, drink the water, or breath the air... WTF? The weather isn't going to clear up before I leave for my final destination either, oh well.
Mostly everything I expected. The Chinese stare me down until I look back then they quickly turn their head. The cops though, they give me the stick eye as long as I'm in their sight!
