LOL Dave you slay me with those antics (as I know you're father like me )

But I thought the slip shouldn't be going on for a tiny chirp like that.

Just got an email reply from TS:

1) They have no plans to do any TCM work.

2) I've asked them about the possibility of removing the torque management software that the G has (or might have). They seemed a bit unclear as to what it was. I explained how it limits the power on launch etc...

Will advise their response when received (if any)

so for 5AT...it's better off just go from brake -> slam on gas instead of brake torque launching i assume?

You might want to give this method a shot. It seems to work quite well.

the ECU does feature different timing and fuel maps when cold; my understanding is for emissions sake and the light off time of the stock cats.

Does anyone know what the ECU behavior is when the engine is cold?
I too have noticed this...especially in the spring and fall...same with my old Sedan...every morning when I start er up...and pull out of my street onto the main road and get on it the G sounds like a race car and the wheels, VDC, TCS, etc...are all struggling not to go side ways...it's pretty frustrating.

To run the 13.85 at 102.73 I just ran last Fri I got up to the line...and the GTI...that had something under the hood b/c it ran a 14.13 at 99.84...staged first and I tripped the first light...and then staged in the middle of deep and shallow to split the difference...when I tell you I saw the 2nd yellows come on and I looked up the $&$&$ tree was already in motion so I had no time but to look for the 2nd yellow and hammer it...so I was maybe at 12-1500 hundred RPMS...if that, but more likely idle...I had done a very controlled burn out with the drag radials and the car hooked pisser and just took off...it was the best 60' time by far in my Coupe...2.13...and I have to wonder if a 2.0 is in there with the neutral reve up...then better brake torqueing...and then back in D...and then drive slack gone and flash brake according to DaveB's way...if so...who knows....maybe a 13.7 at 103!~

I've been able to get a better launch now that it's cold. The RPM doens't drop down nearly as much. If I could get a tad more wheelspin, the RPM might be able to stay nearer the magic 3,000 line. Damn RE050s.

Question Just to resurrect a thread from the dead...

See, G35 Search Gestapo? I used the Search function!

Now...

Has any progress been made here?

I'm contemplating TS ECU (most likely) or a new rear end (quite remote for awhile).

Not that I would ever condone street racing or violate a posted speed limit, but I was S-M-O-K-E-D by a modded 300C off the line a few weeks ago, and I am still whimpering over it.

Any relief in sight?

Cheers,

Clint

Unfortunately no. The 300C has significantly more torque and the tranny doesn't have the brief lag the G35 5AT has when launching. I've run a mildy modded Magnum R/T and as you can see, his launch was far better than mine. Right from the start (first 100') he got about a 2 car lead and held it the entire way.

Tradtionally VB mods are purely mechanical in nature. ie.. drilling out holes so the line pressures are increased. If they have been able access the tranny ECU, that would be a first that I heard of. In fact, if you have read that here, please list up the link! I would really like to know for sure!
