When ur in first gear, hold the rpms at 3k and release the cutch pedal about half way untill u feel the car is going to go already, then dump the clutch when ur ready to launch. Most affective way to launch the car.

Before I give you any advice on launching, know that I'm still not any good at it. I've run the car about 130 times now. For the first 100 or so, I concentrated on my launches. I would ignore the light, and try to dial in my rpms to some predetermined number, then launch. Unfortunately for me, 1500 was just as effective as 2000, 2500, or even 3k. And this also killed my reaction time. I would have r/t's on the order of 2 full seconds. Needless to say, almost every one that lined up against me won .

I've done clutch drops, and clutch/throttle feathers. I'm just not any good at launching. So I decided to forget about it, and concentrate on my r/t. All of a sudden I started seeing low 2.2's and 2.1's, consistently. The problem is, I have no idea what rpm I'm sitting at when I launch.

This post may not help you, I don't know. But if you decide that you just can't launch right, try what I did. You might actually see an improvement.

With the 6MT, the trick is you can't get greedy with the throttle and you've got to be progressive with the clutch as to not shock the drivetrain. If you add too much power too quickly, you'll roast the tires. The autos are so effective in launching because we can load the chassis with the torque converter and take out the driveline shock.

With my prior manuals, my best launches came from launching at 3000-4000rpms. At the line, I'd let the clutch just below the point where it would catch. I'd then rev up to 3000-4000rpms. When it was time to go, I'd let the clutch out a bit and when I felt the car start rolling, I progressively let the clutch out and while feeding more throttle. My goal was to keep the rpms above 3000 and to have as little spin as possible. I rarely was able to use full throttle until 5000rpms plus. You cannot be greedy with the throttle or else you'll smoke the tires.

I need to re-tune my car soon.... expect to reach 280+ hps at the wheel. My previous tuned by Turbo XS was 284.5 on dyno-pack (when i did not have headers).... if i work on my 60' and car is tuned again..... hopefully I can reach 13.5 - 13.7

Ohh...okay. I read your sig and it implied you're stock. If you're trapping 104mph, you can get 13.5s with traction (low 1.9s or better) which won't happen on street tires. If you want the ET, you need the right tires.

A high 13.5 should be possible at 104 with a mid 2.0 to low 2.1 sixty. When I ran my high 13.7, it was at 102, with a low 2.1 sixty foot.
