Lowest theoretical tire pressure for Turanza EL42's

Rather than spending money I don't have right now on wheels+DR's, I'm considering using Cheryl's leftover 17" stockers what have the Turanza EL42's mounted to them.

IIRC, they are 215/55/17, so I imagine that they will accept a little more sidewall compression than my 40 series tires. What would be the minimum tire pressure I should run on these tires without worrying about sidewall damage?

Lowering the PSI on street tires really does help that much at all. Been there, done that. People seem to think that street radials somehow behave like DRs and slicks. Regardless, you could safely get away with running 22psi down the track. I'd personnally go not lower than 26psi though. I think you'll find that the EL42 will probably offer up even worse traction seeing that you already have traction problems. Once the ELs start spinning, it's hard to get them to stop.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Plus, I'm losing 30mm per rear tire.

But - they're just sitting in my garage. It should take me, what, 15 minutes to swap them? Tops?

I thought about trying 25psi. Hell, I can't launch now. What's the worst that could happen? 2.4's? I laugh at 2.4's
