Bobby do u mind sharing the launching technique for getting 2.0 60 foot?
IS it the regular 2500-3000 rpm clutch feather? or u do something else?

DaveB, the track elevation is 600' per IHRA specifications. The density altitude works out to about 1200' respectively. Nonetheless, it was a very good weekend for some stellar times!
You mean 1,200' below sea level right?

As for the C6 Z06, Jesus, I thought the guy at my track made a hell of a run pulling an 11.2@126mph with DRs and long tubes last weekend at my track. A 10.85@129mph with only DRs is insane. The conditions weren't bad either for Kansas City either (about 900' DA).

Judging from the videos I saw of his runs, it sounds like that launch pad was soaked in VHT. You can hear the stick on his tires. It's almost a ripping-like sound. Probably what he suggests to you won't help because you're running on a desert located track with blowing dirt and sand

Forgot the minus symbol, that would be -1200 DA. Launch technique is determined by many factors especially traction available. The track that particular day was very sticky and quite a few cars broke right off the line. Driving a manual on street tires I feather/slip the clutch to get the car moving and then apply more throttle when it "feels" right. Its something that needs to be practiced and the rpms will vary with conditions. Another thing to note is consistency with a stick car on street tires is very difficult. My 60' times varied from 2.04-2.24 that day. Really the best way to improve is to log your technique includings rpms, tire pressures, engine temp etc. This way you change one variable a determine if your heading the right direction. Hope this helps!

Damn dude. I don't log on for 5 days and I miss this. That is absolutely superb. I know conditions played a role, but conditions can't make up for the driver; great driving man.

I'm just stunned.

I know Trap indicates how much power your car is making, I'm just used to see STOCK g35 traps around 97-99 and usually people who trap over 100mph are with at least exhaust/Mrev/Spacer installed. If you are trapping 101 then your Stock Car produce the same power as those who have at least Mrev/Spacer installed in their car. Well you didn't specify the Temp on your original post so the temp did help to get that trap.

I'm saving every penny and hope to be in a LS1/6 powered car soon! In the videos you can hear the tires spinning during my shifts. I would be interested in seeing how far I could get on a set of slicks, but unless I could borrow some that won't happen.

Hell ya "Ellis Juan" and "Ellis Sex" In the next year or two, I'll be considering the purchase of a C5 or 03 Cobra. My wife really would prefer the C5 though I'd actually prefer the Cobra because I'd be able to take the whole family on local trips. My ultimate choice would be the C5 Z06. A friend of mine is running 12.2s@117mph in his C5 Z06 with DRs and an intake. With longtubes, he should be in the 11s. Sick.

Make some friends over at Maxima.org. There are a handful of Maxima owners in your area that are using 26" slicks with 15" Mazda Millenia rims and I know for a fact that the Millenia rims will clear the 03/04 sedan rear brakes. Slicks and the conditions you're running in would EASILY net 13.5s. Maybe a 13.4. I'm certain of it.

As always, I knew traction would be my biggest obstacle to overcome with the crappy Bridgestone turanza tires. First pass 14.13 @ 101 with a 2.24 60' time in the right lane. I spun even though I was feathering the clutch. Tried the left lane and here's the result:

13.87 @ 101 2.05 60'

On my second pass of the day I got a new personal best. I know my car likes to be hot lapped, so I came around again. This time though I spun off the line and didn't even bother running it out and just coasted down the track.

After about hour spectating I decided to give it one more shot. I made a couple more passes with poor 60' times that resulted in low 14's. Next pass I drive around the water box as usual and slightly spin the tires to clean off debris. Light goes green and I feel the car pulling away nicely. I made sure that I didn't botch any shifts and knew this would be a good pass. Pull up to the timeslip booth and the young kid compliments my mph. I thanked him and asked about the et. He replied with a 13.84! I was stoked! Looked at the slip and here's the breakdown:

60... 2.042
330... 5.841
1/8... 8.943 @ 80.07
1000 ... 11.608
1/4 ... 13.844 @ 101.03

I always ask myself if I reached the limit with this set up. To be honest I think a 13.79 can be acheived with perfect conditions. With a set of slicks 13.50's are possible. Anyhow, I decided to call it quits for the day and just sit back and enjoy watching some racing.

Yeah, that would rock...if you are ever on the east coast in April or October let me know...otherwise you'll get me every damn time w/that six speed.

I will have to have the Trailblazer SS on hand for back up.

Sorry to bring the thread back from the dead, but...

Bobby, I don't know if you'll see this or not, but I wanted to restate just how impressive your times are. My car is an 05 revup, with complete NA bolt-ons(except for pullies). Today, with BFG's, I pulled a 13.7 flat at 101.99, with a 2.049 sixty foot.

That's marginally better than your times, and you're stock. I don't know how many people really appreciate what you've accomplished. Seriously man, I have great respect for your driving ability, and your car.
