EDIT: I should say "can" not "will" run 13s.
What ? You really think the average for a Stock 03-07 Coupe 6MT is mid to upper 13's? Not even the 350Z averages that. (Well, the 07 350Z's (VQ35HR) are a different story)

By average, Coupe 6MT's have the potential for low 14's all day on good conditions and good driving. The AT isn't as far back as you think; theres no way the AT is that far away from the MT's performance; potentially, the diference is minimal.

Like I said before, its possible with very low to negative DA's and some very good driving. It's already been done. But its nothing someone should expect to break... unless they happen to be a few of the lucky ones who have such conditions and are able to drive the car very well.

Stock G's can run high 13's in Ontario.

S2k's, 350z older models run 13.8-14.0 in Ontario.

well just came back from the track...1st pass was a 15.047 @ 95.62mph that was with the traction control off, launching at 2,00 rpm and using the tip tronic...I over revved 1st to second shift. keep in mind that I have not been on a drag strip in 10 years!

2nd run 14.924 @ 96.40...same as 1st pass
3rd run 14.907 @ 94.44...traction off same launch left it in drive
4th run 14.857 @ 95.94...traction off same launch tip tronic shifted @ 6200
5th run 14.780 @ 96.53...same as above perfect shifting
6th run 14.836 @ 97.58...launched @ 2300rpm some tire spin (thus the higher mph) shifted ok

all and all I am pretty happy with the results I was expecting a high 14.8 pass and I beat that (and I still had a half tank of gas in the car) so I have some good baseline numbers to start modding it now

Nice runs, especially for summer time. You really should be shifting as close to redline as possible and holding 3rd the whole run.

Any idea of how the DA"s where? I'm assuming anywhere near 4500 ft DA's, if you were really pushing the car & driving properly.

If he posts up the track and the time the races happened, I could get the DA for his runs. I'm guessing 2000-3000' DA.

LMAO!!! Mid 13s? The day i pull up to the tree and a stock g goes blowing pass me will be the day!

6MT and 5AT run just about the same numbers...no half sercond difference between them though...maybe .2 at the most!

14.3 - 14.5 seems to be very average for a g35 6 speed or 5 speed auto. I have only heard of 1 g breaking into the 13s while he was stock and it was like in death valley where weather conditions are perfect.

What exactly are DA's?

The track was in Epping New Hampshire ( New England Dragway) I beleive that it is 400ft above sea level and the 1st pass was at 7:25pm and the last pas was at 9:00pm. Thier was about 22 to 25 minutes between passes.

DA is density altitude. It's basically a calculation factor that shows the density (o2 content of the air). Basically, you could be at an altitude of 3000', but if the conditions (temp, baro pressure, dew point) are such, it is possible that the air density is closer to 0' or 5,000'. In the warmer months, the DA becomes worse which is why cars go slower (less available 02). Right now in Kansas City it's 91, 65 dew point, 1100', and a 29.9 baro pressure. The DA is about 3,900'. Sometimes it will get as high as 5,000' when the temps are in the low 100s and the baro pressure is in the low 29 range. my car would be lucky to run high 14s in conditions like that.

Conditions last night in Epping, NH were actually quite good for summer. The density altitude was hovering around the 1,200'-1,400' range which means the conditions were sucking out about .15 seconds and 1mph vs running in sea level air.

wow dude that's pretty impressive stuff, I've never taken it as far as to calculate the weather into the equation like that...it was mostley just yup the air feels cool and dense...but that is some cool ****

Epping NH is 90 ft above sea level.. about as close as you can get.. i ran my car completely stock last fall in a cold night and ran 14.2 @ 98.5 with a horrible launch (2.2 60ft)! 13's are def possible as every tenth in the 60ft eqauls 2 tenths in the 1/4. with perfect conditions and a perfect launch/shifting.. a stock G can hit 13.s

I've read this countless times, but I think it's a myth. I've definitely never picked up 2 tenths on the big end from cutting 1 tenth off my launch. It's almost exactly 1:1, depending on the amount of wheelhop experienced.
