What does it take for 10.999 ET
Hey- I'm heading out to moroso SOFLA tomorrow.
Was wondering what yall think I might run. This is how is breaking down in my mind.
I ran a 12.6 @ 111mph on
365 RWHP - Stock motor- Stock Tranny. 8psi @ 3000 RPMS 5.5-6psi @ 6500
And street tires with roughly 20% Tread. (I had a 2.0 60')
And it was about 85-90 degrees with maybe 50% humid.
Friday
400-420 RWHP- Stock motor- 3300 Stall TQ Converter, SPG Valve body.
9 PSI Solid and a walbro 255 (those things are badass). Exhaust Cut outs- Brand new Racing slicks on 15" weld wheels.
Should be about 70* with low humid on friday night here.
I think just doing the Tranny upgrades and racing slicks I should be able to post a 11.6 @ 120mph.
(.4 seconds off my 60' and .5 for the tranny upgrades... .1 for luck)
With all that extra horsepower.. (I have the boost, just not a tune yet) I really think I'll be knocking at the door of a 10 second slip (10.999999 full trim car is what im aiming for)
What do yall think? I'd be sooo happy seeing 11s honestly. I'm almost 30,000$ over 4 1/2 years. I'd love to finally be able to say I have a stupid fast car... So I'm a little nervous lol.
EDIT: Don't worry- Ill build my motor this summer. So If I blow it- I don't really care.

to be honest when moroso's track gets cold traction is terrible they dont prep the track properly, but if u light those slicks on fire and you can hook. I am sure you will be low 11's
11s are possible but with the power u have, there is no way u can trap over 115 mph let alone 120. U will need a lot more to trap 9mph more.
good luck, let us know how it went.

So it was interested.
12.07 was my best run- I was really pretty dissappointed.

60 foot was okay- First time on slicks, I know i have another .12-.17 on my 60' to get.
My concern was on my M/T slicks- at 10psi (cold). I would start slipping and slidding gettin really loose after about 65 or 70mph. and it was really hard to keep control of the car.
that and I was actually hooking up REALLY well, but gettin some wheel spin at the end of 2nd gear- so my 5at wouldn't shift into 3rd sometmies (used tiptronic the whole time)
My Tuner/Mechanic/Friend is going to come out next time and run my car with me next time- bring a bottle of N20 to cool off the intercooler and such.. Moroso is a horrible track to. Bradenton is so much nicer.

There are built Z's running 500+ whp in the low 11's. 10.99 is not that easy to do. I think if you can get into the 11's on a stock block, that's a good accomplishment.

I will be able to for sure- I think im going to pick up a methkit for a few extra pwnies.
I'm very sure that 500 wheel on my car will mean an 10 second car. I'll be dipping into the 11s before I even hit 400 on a mustang dyno.

It's not as easy as it sounds bro. The more rwhp you have, the more things that you have to address. Your clutch and traction become a much bigger part of the equation. And to get into the 10's, you have to have a very good launch which means your axles will take a beating. Snapping axles is very easy to do at 500+whp. Not to mention that Z's are lighter than G's so it's harder for G's to hit these times. I'm not trying to discourage you, I'm just giving to you straight. I spend a lot of time on my350z.com and many of the built Z's are right on the edge of breaking 10's but not their yet. And these guys are running 550+rwhp. It can be done but you are gonna have to do a lot of work on your G to get there.

Check it out. The only Z's that have broken into the 10's not only have fully built engines but aftermarket trannies. Besides that, there are many Z's very close to breaking into the 10's but not quite. Like I said, it is not an easy thing to do.

You won't hit 10s.... stop using ricer math. With the best 60' possible, you will need at least 120-122mph trap for a 10.9999. A normal 10.999 time slip will result in a 128mph+ trap. I've seen very FEW VQ cars trap more than 125mph, with even a smaller few being in the 10s.

You're wrong- I will hit 10's. I wont stop building my car until I do.
I'm going to have a full interior 10 second car.. It's just a matter of spending enough money.

I had a supercharged vette with 580wh and my best time was 11.2@ 126 with a 1.7 60ft... that was on DR's.....and yes a 6sp....
and don't forget the cage you will need in your car when you run faster then 11.5
