Tire pressure question

What should I set the tire pressure to at the track for a RWD sedan on street tires? Im thinking 40 psi in the fronts and 25 psi in the rears? Or just leave it at stock pressure of 33 psi? What have you guys found to be the best pressure to run?

I personally leave the street 35 PSI and don't touch it at all. I have tried to lessen the pressure but it fvcked up my launch. I would not go below 30PSI no matter what. Some people see better results sub 30 PSI. It all depends on ur tires and driving style.

On hot days I usually drop mine to ~28-30 PSI.

Went to the track for the first time and started with 28psi and got a 2.45 on my 60'. Then lowered it to 25psi and got a 2.26 and then lowered it again at 20psi and got a 2.195. Could be combination of me getting better and lowering my tire pressure. My friends wanted to go home already so I wasn't able to lower it to 18psi but I think I can really bring my 60's lower if I had another chance. By the way I was using my heavy Work VSXX 19's with 285 in the rear.

If you've got a 5AT, I'd suggest trying a really high pressure both front and rear. Something like 40psi, maybe. The reason being the 5AT really doesn't spin much at all off the line at strip, at least with my G35. My G will pull mid 2.1 60 foots with barely a chirp from the tire with 30psi and the car bogs momentarily coming off the line. Upping the PSI may induce just enough wheel spin to get past that initial bog. IMO, it may be the key to getting the car into the 2.0 60 foot range. I'm going to try 45psi when I go to the strip next week.

I personally leave mine at full pressure (~35 psi on all 4 tires). On mine, with 19" street tires, there is not much sidewall to flex so its kind of pointless to lower the pressure.
