My 1st track day

Back on the east coast after moving from Socal.

Well today was pretty interesting I felt like a complete noob at the track.

I went to the strip today not prepared due to being told last minute.

1. Almost full tank of gas.

2. extra weight in the trunk (spare, jack) I couldn't leave it anywhere.

3. the track is made for the 1/8th, but runs the 1/4 on thursdays so my 2nd run I was letting off way early. The 1st run I spun off the line due to not getting the dirt off the stock tires with a small burnout and letting off early.

The time boards were a little after the 1/8th. I'm used to Socal when the time boards is the finish. The track used a cone to mark the 1/4 so I was letting off a little after 1/8.

I think I did okay considering I knew nothing about the track. My runs are from best to worst. The best run was against a utec tuned z on 295 Drs with 3.9 gears. I think he had more because he didn't want to tell his mods for some reason.

Man do I miss being FI.

The tire pressure gauge i borrowed was off so I still had over 30psi in my tires.

Well at least my 60fts were good on stock tires.

I was #1 and for the Socal guys there was no tech just pay and race!!

I'll be ready next time sorry for all the excuses I know I could of done better.

true and I did have fun as always. I used to always race at calispeedway with the Socal guys before I moved to the east coast last week.

I wish I could miss a gear to add to my excuses. Are you going to try racing at qualcomm racelegal on fridays? I used to go there all the time when I lived in SD.

I just know my times would of been better I've been racing for the last 4yrs and did everything that night your not supposed to do. I had fun anyway though.

you can make a fool of yourself on the bike also I've seen it at qualcomm before. Keep the front end down when you take off is all I'm going to say.

hey hey I'm retired Navy. I think it would be best to watch other riders first.

I know of one time a guy put weights on the front of his busa to keep the front end down. He wrecked due to the weights moving side to side going down the track.
