goodluck. Have you practiced launching the car yet to try and control your wheelspin?

I remember I had to learn how to launch all over again when I was turbo due to excessive wheelpin in 1st and 2nd.

I still don't get why people run 1/8th miles. If 1/8th mile drag is your thing. Then why not just get an AWD turbo car and be done with?

sometimes, that's all you have around the area and not enough 1/4 miles open every week...

you can use the 1/8th to practice launching and your 1/8 ET if that is all you have near you until you get to a 1/4 track.

If you can get your 1/8th into the low 8's or high 7's you know you are a 12sec car for sure.

The runs were getting faster as you started finding your car's new sweet spot.

1/8 mile is a great place to get a lot of runs and get your 60' down... if you cant get a decent 1/8 mile ET, you won't have a good 1/4 mile. It's a great opportunity to see what your car is doing and what tweaks are needed for quicker ET. Besides, when else can you go from dead stop to 80 in the equivalent of one street block (safely and legally)? I’ve seen MANY cars do 1/8 in low 5 seconds!!! That’s a friggen ROCKET! (it would take most ppl out here almost twice that long.

The local 1/8 mile track is what will help us AT guys get a fix for the power cut form brake torque launch (throttle and brake at same time) – next time I’m there I’m going to data log a bunch of stuff for UpRev to analyze and hopefully figure out a way to over-ride it… The ¼ mile tracks around do not have enough runs to get the data I need… when I run ¼ mile I don’t have time to tinker with data logging or tweaking (or determining what changes are needed for the car) – that’s what the 1/8 is for.

Why is an 1/8 mile pointless to ppl? - My guess is its ppl that don’t have a clue (like many things on the forum unfortunately).
