There is a reason that bone stock first gen 6MT beats the IS350 90mph and up. Slippery aerodynamics of the G with aero sedan might play a roll in this as well having 0.26 drag coefficient.

If we run each other by my house, u will be shocked how much difference just the elevation alone makes for the G35s/G37. I would get walked on by ur car with ease.

are you going to the next street legals? I know you dont like 'em, but the cold weather wont last forever...
I've owned both, and can say with confidence that the 335i is WAY faster than my 2004 G35. And not just off the line - all the way up (to as fast as I'd ever want to go on the streets). The magazines support this as well: Look at the 60-100 times. G35's (HR's) typically will do 8+ seconds, while the 335 is low 7 second range. I also ran a best of 14.6 at 98.x mph with my G35 6MT which was pretty typical (on average) for that era of G (please don't post the rare 13.9s that people ran) and a best of 13.6 at 102.x with the 335 (which is also pretty typical of what people are running). That's a big difference.
But I really could care less about drag racing. What is important is that my 335 has NO turbo lag (can't speak for the slushboxes) and has big torque at any speed. On the highway in 6th, I can get real solid acceleration and never shift. My G always felt weak in this same situation. I test drove a G37 6mt recently as well (sedan) and although MUCH better than my old G (and an overall great car), it still didn't have the punch of the 335 6mt.
Regardless of all that, the G does alot of other things better than the 335, including costing alot less. I may switch back once my lease is up depending on how the rates go.

If you feel that the 335 has no turbo lag, you need to drive some high horsepower NA cars.
The 335's spool-up time is minimal, but definately noticeable.
As the dyno's show, the 335's top end power is rather weak and drops off as you approach redline, as opposed to the G which continues to gain toward redline and ultimately plateau.
The 335 has a much fatter midrange than a G, but at the top where it matters when you're drag racing, the G does have an edge.

Where are u from?
Mike is absolutely right, after 5500 rpm the 335's acceleration stays flat. Maybe early shifting will result in better times.
