I don't know why are you guys arguing about this issue that modded G is as fast as the stock 335, especially when it comes to highway speeds. For me personally, i value top end power more than anything. I drag race only to compare certain aspects of the car to another one. To many of the people on this forum and in general do not think G37/G35 and first gen modded G35 has a chance against the turbo 335 on the highway but it can be proven otherwise if anyone wants to dispute this that lives in LA area. The way i was walked by the G37 (stock 6MT) in my 3 was not even a close one after 80mph. Going from 80-140 and gaining 2 cars is huge IMO.

We’ve been over this before... you know as well as I do that your true interest is not pushing a pedal with your left foot, its manipulating a phallic symbol with your right hand

Seriously though, I'll do this for you - I'll glue some squishy blob on the dead pedal and you can play your pedal game while shifting faster with my MM.

Just give me your gawd damn car. NOW!

i ran a 13.8 @ 101.7 in my s2000 01 with only bilstein coilovers and new s02s and I feel my G now is faster than the s2k. I have my slip still for the s2k...

My 03 g35coupe dynoed 256 without my nismo exahust installed yet, and no ECU tune. it runs damn good and I have messed with a few 335s.

My buddy has a 550i and twice he got 335s as loaners and once a 535.... first 335 he got was the 4 door original year 335, and he was with a buddy, we did 20-110 50-110 i pulled 3/4 - 1 car each time.... he wanted to try again without his friend but we never did...

second car he got was a the 535 we did a highway pull and a few other runs and it was pulling on me very slowly but at speeds, i would always end up at his door

next he got a 335x newer one, and that car pulled even more... its close, and its not embarrising but i agree the 335 is a touch faster. i would still prefer to own a rwd 6mt sport car like the g over the 335

all the cars he had were automatic, mines mt

If I had to choose a powerband, I would take the one with the flattest torque ala E46 M3. The E46 M3 and 335i are almost dynoing the same hp, but the E90 has more torque down low. The M3 is trapping higher speeds at 106 mph. In the last few thousand rpms during a 1/4 mile run, the M3 has more usable torque to redline.
