TT g35 vs. GT500

Hey guys,

where to begin. Well, long story short I have my car which is stored at my parents house and down the street lives this older guy with a ford gt500.

Recently, Ive had several people who live in my neighborhood come up to me telling me how this guy said he blew my car away on the highway and this and that...how his car would destroy mine in a race..so on so forth.

Now generally i don't care what people like to make up or say but every time i drive by him in town he has to rev up or something in a very non friendly way. I'm a little surprised as this guy is about 45 and im 19 just visiting home from college. ..you'd think hed have something better to do lol

With this guy talking all his **** and giving me constant non friendly gestures im getting kinda annoyed. I just want to shut this guy up at this point..(i hate talkers).

Im almost positive ill run into him sooner or later so heres my question: who would win?

now i know that's a very general question with so many factors to put into play but given the facts (that im unfamiliar with in terms of the gt500) who would win?

also i should say, im not looking to race him, im more or less curious..whether he finds me to race is his decision and so forth mine

I have a 2006 sport coupe with a greddy twin turbo with 400rwhp/400tq (full list of mods on my garage page) and as far as i know his car is stock

take care

run 9lbs an ur done.. lol...

GT500 assuming its the new one.. is very very heavy... and the gear bx is nice but not that nice.. it has an iron block... aluminum heads.. and the blower is iron..

if he has a smaller pulley intake and SCT ReFlash.. he is at almost 600hp

if he has exhaust he is pretty much there..

if he has he Ford sports suspension or Drag pack.. Beware.. he might just smoke you at a dead stop..

it depends on how good a driver he is.. and how good you are with the shifter..

i would race him on the 1/4 mile for ****s and giggles.. if he wins then i just add more boost... and do a retune.. go back and rape him..

you'll need alot more than a retune if you expect to beat a 600 whp gt500.

the problem with the GT500 is that its hella heavy..

if you cant get it to grip.. then your FFFedd..

you dont need 600hp to beat the GT500

you would probably want 525 - 580

around there..

its not easy to make 100+hp

but injectors.. methane injection.. NOZ.. and BOoost help.. lol

maybe you miss interpreted me..

he has a rated 500hp stock..

im just saying that if he did any of those upgrades.. those are the numbers you would be looking at.. the GT500 makes a lot of power with the simplest things.. even a ECU reflash grants you really really good pwer for the $$$

First, IF you do race him, please take it to the track.

Anyhow, there's a good amount of false information in this thread. And just to refer to some of those posts:

- The Shelby produces 500 HP at the flywheel. Therefore, you cannot say his 500 HP is significantly more than your 400 WHP.
- A stock Shelby GT500 produces 600 WHP? What?
- A Shelby GT500 weighs almost 4000 lbs
- A Shelby GT's gearing is rather conservative. If you have a 6MT or even a 5AT, at 400WHP/400TQ you should have good rubber to make sure you aren't just burning rubber through the first few gears.

You should have no trouble keeping up. And I wouldn't be surpriced if you pull away considering his weight (assuming you have proper rubber).

If it were me, I would honestly just ignore him. It sounds to me like it's just a punk guy who has the mind of a 17 year old. Why waste the gas or bother to go to the track JUST for him. Just IMO...
