should i be disappointed?

just ran at the track tonight two races one i ran a 15.37@93.71mph and second race 15.36@94.34. i felt like my car ran like a champ but im still disappointed in the time. i have pop charger, z-tube, and 5/16 plenum spacer. shifts felt perfect and no slip off the line, vdc was off. this was at the strip in las vegas it was pretty cold 45 degrees. plus it didnt help that i got smoked by a turbo diesel ram, she ran a 13.7@99.3mph. car felt fast but times just seem slow!

Not to be a downer, but I'd expect low to mid 14s for your first time out...

Granted I've never dragged and I don't know how great LV is (although they're sea level right?), but with mods you should quite a bit lower. Our cars stock run right around 14.0/1 and close to 100MPH right? I might be way off.

LV is at 1800 above sea level. Makes little difference in overall performance. You shoulda been about a half second faster than that. Driver mod for sure. VDC on or off? 5AT or 6MT?

I was getting between 14.3 and 13.8 on my Ion there before I staged it. FWD FTL.

Your MPH suggess you can do better. 93MPH is good for mod to high 14's, so you either aren't getting off the line quick enough, or you are losing time somewhere.

Post up your entire timeslip. R/T, 60 footer, 1/8th mile.

I rana 14.7 @ 93MPH on a stone stock X last summer.

I need to know how you launched, did you leave it in automatic or did you manually shift, what was your 60 foot, do you have aftermarket rims, and what's your drag experience level?

Las Vegas sits at around 2,600' above sea level. Conditions last night were in the low 50s, 30ish baro pressure, and mild humidity. Calculated density altitude was around 2,600'. The engine was making 94% of it's available HP. In sea level conditions, with no changes, the car would have run 14.8@96.7mph. The MPH looks right, but the ET is still a little slow. My guess is your 60 foot was in the low to mid 2.3 range. A 2.1 60' would have netted you a 14.5@97mph in sea level conditions which is about right.

I wouldn't worry about it. Your mods aren't really gonna help with your 1/4 mile time. I'm sure your car is running just fine. The pro's here will help diagnose your technique once you post your timeslip.

You had fun though right?

Good question, heavy 19 or 20's will kill your times.
