Took my Vortech G to the track today...mehhh...

I went to the track today and I kinda surprised how slow my car was....not so much the trap speed but the launch was non existent....I could not even get the tires to chirp in 1st gear no matter how hard I tried and yet my 60ft times were mid 2.2's. My car is simply too weak down low.

My best time was 13.51@105mph with my best mph being 106mph.

My mods are as follows.

2003 G35 5AT
Vortech w/ 3.12 pulley
600cc injectors + walbro
Osiris Tuner
Skunk2 Plenum Spacer
Megan racing long tube headers
Ebay 3" "nismo" exhaust
3.5 Final Drive
Trans go shift kit

This was with absolutely no weight reduction, 93oct gas and my 20" wheels which I know don't help.

Should I shoot myself....or do you guys think this is normal?

EDIT: It was also 91*F outside.

Did you drive in manumatic mode? You need to work on your 60' then you'll get better 1/4 times.

Yes, I shifted in manumatic. My 60ft times cannot get any better as wheel spin was non existent...no matter how hard I would launch it would only bog down and then after 4.5Krpm it would pick up.

Vortech's great for FWY blasts, not too much of the difference on the 1/4 vs a well done NA, opposite for the Stillen supercharger

^LOL, from a "dig" a Vortech isn't gonna be too much quicker than a well put together N/A G because of the power band. now on the freeway, doing an 80mph pull, a Vortech will really take advantage of it's power delivery and show a much bigger gain than on a 1/4 mile track. the Stillen SC is the opposite, great initial power delivery but then falls flat up top. hope that make's sense...

yeah, that just isn't borne out in reality. even though the OP isn't happy with his time, he's picked up a full second versus his best N/A time (from the thread on my350z).

yeah, you got a point... from a "track" perspective one second is ALOT. i guess i'm looking at it more from a "street" view. people usually just expect too much of a gross amount of gain from FI, that's harder to come by then most would think.

I'm saddened at the fact that I spent more money on this car than any car I've ever owned...yet it's one of the slowest...lol.

Autos tend to bog if you launch over 2.5k rpm. Try launchng between 2-2.5k but preferably on the lower side of that range. Also, try slapping your stock wheels on. That should net you a better 1/4 time.

When I went to the track, my 60' ft times were constantly 2 seconds on 19" Rays.

I tried power braking all kinds of ways and even just dropping my foot on the throttle without power braking and nothing changed.
