Cecil County 12/11 New PB
Hey guys,
Yesterday I went to Cecil County for the last Test and Tune of the year. I ran a PB of 13.907@101.38, and my highest trap was 13.930@101.50.
My mods are the same as last time I went. I just launched from a higher rpm and was more consistent with my shift rpm to 4th.
I was having problems getting off the line on a lot of the runs. My 60 foot times are usually in the 2.15 range, but on most of the runs they were 2.2x or above. I guess the launch pad prep was kind of ****ty, but everything went well after my first run of the day at a 13.997@101.24 (2.243 60') shifting early into third. I had a total of five 13 second runs, and a few runs that were sort of garbage.
I also met ajcool2 and his brother, cool group. I ran three times after they came, and those were my worst runs of the day. I kept making mistakes like spinning too much off the line, or hitting the rev limiter, or shifting early. aj's bro was quick on his reaction times, so my concentration was shot as soon as that loud Maxima flew out of the hole next to me Most of the day I was just running by myself. Either way, it was a good time.
I noticed that my car tends to run a little slower when it gets colder out. It seems to do the best when the temps are around 50 to 60 degrees and the sun is heating up the track surface. When the temperature is closer to 40 degrees, it actually goes slower. It seems that as the DA dips under sea level the car isn't as quick/fast, and I'm not sure why. The DA on this track day was almost sea level, maybe 200-500, but the DA on my previous track day was negative, and I went faster today. My car always seems to pull this crap. When the DA was 1200+ it ran faster than when it was -800.
Here is a pic/video of my best run of the day, a 13.907@101.38. This was against an 80's Camaro. The kid kept giving my car weird looks, like what're you doing at the track. He stopped after I put about a football field on em in this run:
Here are some other runs from the day:

This GTI was running 12s at 112-116 all day, I was impressed:
There were a few of the new 5.0 Mustang's at the track. The slowest was a convertible automatic. He only had a tune and was running consistent 12.2's@114-115... ridiculous. The light blue one in the pics below was high 11's@118-119 all day:

Power mods:
-1/2" Spacer
-Borla cat-back w/x-pipe
-Smoothed lower collector (kinda like an MREV)
I don't really consider the Z-tube and the revup box a power mod, but they're on there too, and I have a grounding kit that helps with the shift lag in MM mode.

Well at least you know you have a 13sec sedan and it will be faster once you find a tuning solution.

It was nice to meet you too! I'll be back when the track open up in February. I hope to have the Transgo kit and the tune (eManage) in by then.

I will definately be on the juice, but not when I run you so that you can compare from last time.

Nah, I was just here for the fall. However, the drive would be worth it if the conditions are good. You'll easily pull me, but it'll be a nice comparison. MD has some great tracks, lucky! We have nothing in CT.
