1/4mile challenge
hey guys i have a 2003 g35 sedan its got about 100k miles on it and it does have the sprot package suspension and rims i think are the only difference though... its completely stock just bought it and i recieved a challenge to race a big diesel truck 1/4 mile i know it does have some upgrades and blows black smoke and all that but dont see how it could beat me but i was wondering how fast my car will probaly be in the 1/4 mile. i know new with a proffessional driver they run like a 14.6-14.7 but was wondering if any of you guys have ran your stock g35 sedan 03-06 quarter mile to compare to make sure because if we do go through its for like 500$ so i need to know im going to win if im going to do it thanks for your numbers!! it helps alot
You have to careful with those turbo diesel trucks.
We were at the track this Friday and there was a diesel truck that stomped both GTR's that were there and ate Cobra's for breakfast.
We usually have a few Turbo diesel trucks at the track and they are either incrediblly slow or incredibly fast.
Here's a video of them on Friday.

The best i ran was a 14.8 w/ a full trunk and simple bolt on's w/ a 6mt. Its alot harder to hook and get a good launch especially when everyone is coming through w/ drags on.
Same day second run was a 21 since it went sideways when i tried to launch harder. Theres things i didnt know at the time and shift points. Plus i was on a stock clutch and tires with plenty of miles. I would say goto an open track day and pay the 15 bux and see what you run. Then go from there.

I seriously wouldnt do it until you find out his mods. Hes hustling you from the sounds of it. $500 means hes pretty confident on what he has and you dont even know what you will run. The automatic just means you will be consistent.
