don't forget my car is 182 lbs heavier but i agree, it should have been low 13s. next time i'm going to manual shift and pull the vdc fuse off. i hear it makes a big difference.
on the side note, did you know that manual is 44lbs heavier than rwd auto?

I really think that the sporttronic shifter is the bomb. in regular auto mode, it shifts too early. It make a HUGE difference on my car. you can really feel it accelerate much faster in manual mode.

i have been practicing it a lot just on my way to work and back. you are right, there seem to be a difference. the problem i have is my first gear. very ****. too hard to get it close to redline. either shift too soon, or it gets stuck at 6500rpm. i guess i'll keep practicing for my next trip to the track

I have an auto and shaved .15 off my time by using manumatic mode instead of auto. That was even hitting the rev limiter from 2nd to 3rd.

bzabodyn-Based on your info of shaving off .2-.3 by not hitting the rev limiter I should be running 14.1-14.2. Sounds good to me. Hopefully next time I go to the track my time will be that good.

My Mods: Z-Tube, K&N dropin (stock airbox), Crawford Package-plenum, headers & cats.
Other goodies: Grounding Gear, Crawford Billet Oil Cap, Clear Corners & Clear Bra

i thought you were better off by getting closer to the rev limiter.

You are better off getting close to the rev limiter just don't hit it.

Would it have stopped power even after disabling the VDC by pushing the button?
Here's pictures of the VDC's 50amp fusible link. There's also a 30amp VDC link I've yet to find.

13.7 is good for an auto trans. G35. You've basically shaved a full second off what a bone stock AT G35 does.

A second lower at the 1/4 mi. track is A LOT!

Ohio drivers, come to KilKare in Xenia

Just went to the dragstrip for the first time ever, Kilkare runs Test and Tune every Thursday nite from 5pm to ??, $15 for all the runs you care to make. I got 4 runs in about 1 hour.

http://www.kilkare.com/

I need some practice getting thru the trees, my worst reaction time was 1.2160 and best was .9978

60' times pretty consistent from 2.2801 to 2.2281, overall times were 14.6818 @ 96.80mph to 14.9819 @ 91.29(don't let the auto shift for you)
O ya, VDC was off for every run.

It was pretty lonely with no other G35/350Z's around we need to get some folks to show. I hope to see some of ya'll down there in June, will be working evenings until then. Have fun and keep it real

went to the track today again. tried the fuse and was able to rev a little higher, not to 5k, but probably close to 3k. the only problem the stock brakes were not able to keep the car stopped. so i had to go back and just keep it around 2200-2500 rpm. there were may be 10 cars racing all night. it was awesome. i had so much practice with the manual shifting. i have to say i was running consistant 13.3 and by manual shifting was able to get my best run of the night with 13.31 @ 102.51mph (60ft - 1.873). my best run with regular auto mode was 13.35. so as you can see you don't really win a lot but it does help.
