05 Sedan 5A times

Went to the track for the 1st time yesterday. It was blazing hot over 100 degrees until at least 6:30pm. Car has 3100 miles on it and 100% bone stock with only the spare tire removed. My 1st run was a 14.84 at 95.9mph with a 2.28 60 foot time. 2nd run was my best time 14.71 at 96.5mph with a 2.27 60 foot time. I only got 1 more run in after that when it cooled down about 5-10 degrees. This time I only launched off idle and did a 2.31 60 foot time, 14.77 at 95.9mph. I shortshifted the 2-3 shift on that run as well. All runs were in manumatic mode. I think I can easily drop a few tenths with more practice and cooler weather.

Nice times! As you say cooler weather will help. What's the elevation at your track?

Track is about 100 feet above sea level. Have you guys noticed better performance when the engine hits 10k-15k? I used to have a 3.5 Altima and it broke in nicely as the miles grew...

Where were you running that it was 100 degrees? The desert? Use www.underground.com and it will tell you exactly what the temps were in your area, hour by hour.

Nice runs, btw. The car should get faster with some more miles and in better weather. I don't see why 14.3-14.4@98mph wouldn't be possible in better weather and with more miles.

It was at Sacramento Raceway... if you haven't been to Sac in late May... it gets hot. There were a couple 350z, G35 coupes out running I think they were running around 14.4-14.5 so I am happy that my bone stock Sedan is within a couple tenths of those cars.

The weather conditions on 5/25 definitely weren't favorable for racing. That weather was sucking out about .3 and 2mph out of your car compared to what it would run in 50/60 degree weather.

I know what you're saying about 350Zs. I'm right on the heals of the stock and lightly modded NA 350Zs at my track. They're typically getting 14.2-14.4@98mph.
