i was suggesting to try an autox because they are inexpensive as opposed to road races, though i'm going to attend one oct 17th since my toyo proxies ra1s finally came in, it's a place to start i suppose..... going to this one:

New Hampshire International
Monday, October 17

The Sports Car Driving Association, LLC is pleased to announce that we will be returning to New Hampshire International Speedway for six events in 2005! NHIS is located in Loudon, New Hampshire, about an hour north of Boston. This unique facility is a 1.6 mile road course that utilizes both permanent road course, as well as Nascar Oval sections. Furthermore, there are some dramatic elevation changes that keep drivers of all ability levels on their toes. The facilities at NHIS are first rate, and the track surface is smooth as glass.

Maybe I am confused. In the motorcycle world roadracing is on a race track like Road America. Is autox something different????

Autocrossing is usually done in a parking lot with a course set up by using cones. I don't think I've ever gotten over 50mph on an autox course... they are really tight and you have to think very fast to do well. Roadracing is on a track like you said.

sillyhenry, is that event at NHIS you posted public?

Not if he missed the last shift or lifted off the gas early.

Basically, what happened is the bluechick launched better, the 350Z then
gained and passed her only to miss the last shift which made the 350Z slow up and allow the G35 to catch up and cross the stripe at about the exact same time but with a faster trap speed since the 350Z more than likely missed
his last shift.

will you have to shift into 4th gear by the end of the 1/4mi? i haven't run yet, but plan to get a baseline before the track closes at the end of the year. i am determined to run consitent all motor 13s in this car! it's got about 300 hp and it's lighter than a trans-am. it's rediculous not to!
