Stock G35C 1/4 mile times/tips ?

I'm going to the drag strip tomorrow and i was wondering what times should i actually be satisfied with. What have u guys done with ur stock G35C?

Also if you have any tips for me that would be hepful ... also roughly at what speed and gear were u at the end ... that would help too

I've never gone to the strip before so i'm a little nervous that i won't do very well so any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks a lot in advance

u should run mid-14's and be at the top of third when u end ur run, meaning ur in the mid 90's. i dont know how experienced u are with launching ur standard, but i would try learning from a friend who u might be going with. ive never launched a car past 4K, and that s even pushing it for me. i doubt u wanna burn ur clutch all in one day.
P.S. dont forget to warm ur tires before ur run, cuz it will help grip off the launch.

hope this helped u out at all.

If it is your first time, I would concentrate on the launch first, then the lights.

Once you've gotten comfortable with the traction (it usually differs from the street) you can practice the "tree" (the starting lights).

Tip: Always leave on the LAST YELLOW, not the green.

Good Luck.

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY first time on the track and here is how the crazy racing chick did with her as stock as it gets blue '03 G35C:

My best run:
14.54 @ 99.46
60' 2.29

and i was racing against an '04 350Z 6MT who did:
14.53 @ 96.65
60' 2.36

on my VERY first run (my first time at the track EVER i did: 14.63 @ 93.92 and my 60' were 2.25 so i think for a first time that was great ... and it really didnt get a whole lot better than that later on but i simply don't think my stock '03 is capable of much more with original tires that have almost 30K miles on them.

Did you go to Union Grove??? Me and some friends went up there a couple of Tuesdays ago. If so we should meet up there and do some runs against each other. Mine is bone stock auto with 31K miles on my tires (bald) and it was the first time for me also. 14.65 is what I was running. We plan on going up there soon since I am getting new tires on Saturday and my friend is getting a new exhaust.

i think that is where we went ... the name of the place was Great Lakes Dragaway ... i think it is in union grove. We might be going again sometime soon couz my brother is still modding his Supra.

I will let u know in advance before we go next time.

and congrats on lasting for 31K with original tires ... i seriously thought no one else has lasted as long as me ... i really need to get new ones too but i keep thinking i will make it for a few more months and since i'm not gonna be drivin the G in the winter i can just change then next spring .... but we'll see

by the way what was ur speed when u did ur top time? and do u remember ur 60s?

99mph is pretty good, especially considering the 350z ran a 96mph. That actually doesn't make sense to me because he had a worse 60 foot time and yet beat you in the ET slightly. That means that once he hooked up he was pulling on you slightly so he should have had a higher MPH than you.

I was in MM mode and next time I will try it in auto. I did have the rpm's up a little to get the squat going before I took off. Like I said it was my first time racing the G.
