6,800rpms (yes, it's in the red). It works out to be ~100-101mph in 3rd. Since the last 66' of track is averaged to get your trap speed, I'm probably crossing the line right at 99mph or so. Seeing that I sometimes tap the limiter just after the finish, the calculation of 100mph in 3rd gear at 6,800rpms works out.

Hmmm,

Maybe I will let it hit the limiter next time.

Maybe the shift that I am inducing is hurting my times.

Tested top speed in 3rd on my 06 AT.

It's exactly 95mph at the rev limiter in manual mode. I verified this with my GPS.

SO, you WILL have to shift to 4th in a 1/4 mile run. This is with my 06. I don't know about the older ones.

My 05 5AT coupe will do 150 in 4th on GPS...he he he...but seriously, if you get a Reflash that raises your rpms you can cross the 1/4 in 3rd easy.

AAM in Maryland and TechnoSquare in CA both do reflashes for you. I had a TechnoSquare flash done on my old Sedan and I drove down to ML from MA for the AAM one b/c they did a Dyno session too.

You can also buy hand held ones that require personal tuning and or a lap top...just do a search on here b/c I am no expert on those. If you go to the Technosquare and AAM (Altered Atmosphere Motorsports) websites you can read up on their stuff.

SO I take it you have not run your Coupe in the 1/4 yet.

Are you going to chip your new coupe?

Not running the coupe until the fall when it has at least 8000 miles on it...useless to run it under that and or in the heat...

I already said I went down to AAM in MD to get a dyno and tune. :-) My car dynoed 250 to rear wheels b/f I did the UR UD Crank Pulley FYI.

Your car seems strong! Congrats!

I only ran a 14.6 at 96. It was over 80% humidity in Florida that night and about 88 degree's out. My car also only had 800 miles on it.

I would say I could pick up maybe 2 tenths in the winter at most.

I would love to chip this sucker but $600 for such a slow car to begin with is not worth it IMHO. I would do it for $300.

Let us know when you run your car.

That just doesn't make sense unless Infiniti has lowered the fuel cut on the 05+ or you have a G35X. 6600rpms in 3rd gear with a 26.3" tall tire equals about 100-101mph taking into consideration torque converter slippage. Check for yourself:

Gear ratio for 3rd: 1.47
Axle ratio 3.36
Tire height 26.1"
MPH@6600rpms

This calculator jives perfectly with what I see at the track.

I am telling you the truth.

My car will only go 95 MPH MAX in 3rd gear.

I have the 18's. It was bouncing off the limiter at 7k rpms. It is an 06.

I don't know about your calculator but in the REAL WORLD. My car will only go 95 in 3rd max.

Man I hated having to shift to 4th at the 1/4 before building the motor and the rest of the car.

Now the redline is at 7800 though and 3rd is long gone before the 1/4.

It's not cheap either..
