05 G35C 6MT vs GSR Hatch I/H/E + 05 S2000

Well as most of you know I bought a 05 G35C 6MT last saturday. I've put about 700 miles on it so far averaging 100 miles a day. My friends have been asking me to race ever since I bought it.. but I havn't gotten to it. Well this weekend it all came down as I accepted both my friends challenges. On friday I raced my friends GSR Hatch with I/H/E. We did many runs from 20-110, 45-120, 60-120. Same results everytime low end we'd be neck and neck as I get to 3rd I pull 2 to 3 cars. I also forgot to mention I had 2 other friends in my car. Now earlier today I raced my other friends 05 S2k. We also did many runs but with noone in our cars. We did it from 20-125, 45-125, 60-130. Again same results everytime.. I slowly walked away to about 2 cars. More to come as I'm getting used to the car, we are also going to the track next month with 25 of my close friends

Its a good kill, but I'm not surprised. Bigger and better designed engine. Just be careful man, cause the break in period for your car is crucial. I can keep up with my friends 2004 GTO now. Well at least I could before my car got totalled. But I believe this had to do with him beating on the car when he first got it.

I honestly doubt you could keep up with a GTO. They have 400hp and lots of tq. But anyway.. I really havn't gave a **** about the break in period because you do know all motors are driven 1000 miles before they are put into the car itself. All manufacturers do this to make sure its not a lemon motor.

really doubt this... just be logical...thats a **** load of people they have to hire to drive the car around (1k miles) ... and look at how many motors' out there...

All motors are broken in from the factory, it's true. I don't know if they run them 1000 miles but they are all broken in once at the dealership.

I don't know about 1000 miles, but I know they drive the first 5 to 10 miles on the car.

I know BMW will put the engine on a "motor dyno" and do a break-in as per engineers instructions... I would assume that the higher end *** engines go through the same paces because of their tight tolorences and high revs.

04 GTO did not have 400hp. It had 305 or something around that. And it was heavy. It was a low 14 to high 13 sec car stock.

'04's had 350, and the '05's have 400. We should be able to hang with an '04, but not with an '05(stock vs. stock). GTO's also weight about 3800 lbs., that's heavy in anybody's book.

yea the 04 GTO are not that big of a threat to us. I have raced one and it was close the whole time.
