Smile How to figure out your 0 to 60 times. post times!

Ive seen alot of people ask "what are you 0 to 60 times?" I actually didnt know. So I found this and wanted to share. Please post your 0 to 60 times if you have time slips that show 1/8 mile. I had a 8.299 1/8 th mile at 83.65 mph
http://www.markviii.org/~nightsky/sixty.htm

My time was a 4.27 0 to 60 time.

i don't see how this thing is accurate. if u plug in some numbers from a stock car u get < 5.6 0-to-60 times. somehow i doubt my car is that fast. theoretical formulas somehow don't compute accurately when it comes to real world variables. maybe in the vacuum of space though.

our cars can get less than 5.6 in stock form (5.5 is the best published in a major mag) (350z has done 5.3, yet on different tests G35 accelerated faster than 350z...bottom line is the car is capable of doing it...the question is...is the driver?.......all formulas have error/accuracy ranges....what we need to do is figure out what that range is....if it is accuracy rate is +/- .2 sec than it is an ok formula.

I dont think there is a problem with the formula. Its taking 2 facts and calculating them.

I don't see any reason why anyone of us couldn't duplicate or beat a mag time. In this case, the best mag time for a 6mt is 5.5 seconds to 60 mph.

well then i find it incredible that a magazine article will come up with supercharger 0-to-60 times of 4.9 - 5.4 ... yet, this formula is claiming 4.27 for people on this forum with a similar set-up. i'm not trying to flame anyone or anything... i am simply stating that it does not take into effect real world variables for a true representation of what the car can truly do under normal circumstances.

here is the article that was posted a while back:

I'm not trying to claim I have the fastest car 0-60. I lose to a couple buddies all the time in the 1/4 who have TT in there z's. I did pull this time it just wasn't on street tires. I ran on drag radials launching at 5000 rpms. I did a 1.7 60 ft. So I think its pretty acurate. I was just looking to see if other people when they put thier calculations in what did they run. So thanks for not trying to flame me.
