How to figure out your 0 to 60 times. post times!
I think you're digging too much into it. Who races to 60 mph anyway? It's just an estimate of what our cars are capable of. In the real world, supercharged G's are getting into the high 12s, but their 0 to 60 is probably not an indication of this due to gearing. You got to look at the trap speed. If my G can pull a 1/4 mile with a trap of 110 mph, I'm really not worried about a car that claims 0 to 60 in 4.8, but only pulls 105 mph. Some cars are even designed to yield a favorable 0 to 60 number for marketing purposes. The E46 330Ci is one such car. Based on the worse 6mt G 0 to 60 number of 6.1, 330ci owners actually thought their car could hang. The a$$ whooping I put on many 330Ci's would prove otherwise. Even stock STIs and EVOs and pull mid to high 12s out the box, but take away that 1.6 60' and they'll get walked hard by even the weakest FI application from a roll. Again, trap speed is a better indication of a car's power, not the 0 to 60.

Same with top end--while I may get up to 120 or even 130 or so rarely on a deserted road, I'm sure I'll never get up to 156 (manufacturer max in many European cars) or higher. Unless I get that 996 Porsche Turbo I've been dreaming about.
I'm new here (I just got my 2004 G35 5AT coupe last weekend to replace a Lexus SC430) and I don't want to step on anyone's toes, especially if you're a long-time poster. I just wanted to be one to stand up for 0-to-60 times.
By the way, I LOVE my G35!!! The Lexus SC430 has 300Hp, but was heavier and wasn't NEARLY as fun to drive as the G35.

My 03 sedan 5AT with a Z-pipe has done 9.2s@77mph in 1/8th. The calculator suggests 5.6 0-60s. I imagine it's fairly close because most cars in the mags that run 14.1-14.3 in the 1/4 mile typically get 5.7-5.8 0-60s.
