03 5AT 3.53 Gear Swap.

Ok, I dropped my car off yesterday the 15th at Dynamic Turbo in Miami, FL and picked it up today the 16th. I put my car in the shop to switch my automatic 3.3 gears with a member of this forum who has a TT G35 six speed coupe which has 3.53 gears. I also had a Motordyne 5/16 plenum spacer installed as well. The biggest question most people ask when switching the gears is do you lose cruise control and the answer is YES you do lose it. Some people say they haven't but go figure. My first impressions of this switch is wow! My car picks up like a beast and it's a MUST to do mod for all you automatic guys out there like me. Maybe the motordyne spacer topped with the new gears and the injen CAI had something to do with the extra pick up but you can totally feel the difference. When I got home I called my friend up who has an 05 auto with a stillen CAI and we have raced plenty and it's a draw about every time depending on who launched first but not tonight I took my friend easyyyy. In three months I will be taking my car to put on a set of strupp headers with UR pullies and high flow cats and I will take some dyno pulls to see where I am really at.

Loosing cruise isn't something I'm willing to do without. I use it fairly often. I'd love to have the gears. Oh well.

Heard the same thing....
Don't think it's been resolved yet.

Either way I'll take the performance & loose the cruise any time.
In two years, I doubt I've used it more than half a dozen times....

ok a stupid question. Doesn't the 6MT's have cruise? If so I wonder why you would loose it unless it has something to do with the gauge pod?

It Cost me 300 to install and I didn't have to pay for the gears because I swaped with a member who wanted mine.

Mine works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. But most of the time it doesn't work. The performance you get from the gears is worth losing in my opinion.
