screwed up a launch big time -fried my clutch?

Yesterday I REALLY effed up a launch. I had the clutch partially engaged and my rpms were at 5000+. I could smell the clutch when I parked the car 30 seconds later. As I was driving today, I could swear the clutch pedal felt "softer" and engaged at a different point, but now I have given it way too much thought and don't know if I am making it up in my head.

When u fry a clutch, does it usually feel "softer", and does it usually engage at a higher or lower point than normal?

yeah, you burned your clutch good. I've done it too. When I got my G it seemed as though I had to re-learn driving a manual transmission all over again. You could take your G to the dealer and have them check it out or you could drive it for a day or two and see if it feels that different to you. You probably shortened the clutch's lifespan by a few thousand miles but it will still work. Take it to the dealer if you're still concerned.

You might have scorched the surface of your flywheel. In that case the flywheel would have to be resurfaced or replaced. Not a cheap job labor wise.

i think i have the same problem but will a dealership warranty it i mean it didn't smell like it was burned at all and it wasn't a launch if was from a roll but afterward it feels a little softer and engages later so im wondering if i did the same thing. but like i said there was no smell of a burned clutch

dealership probably won't warranty is because they consider the clutch a wear item. unless it like brand new.

the car has 16000 miles on it so what do you think and i don't race my car really at all. i mean i might get on it once every 2 or 3 weeks but it would be once and then its back to driving normal
