flywheel and warrenty question

05 6mt w/ 16k

i already had my tranny replaced by the dealer at 15k...(5th gear grind)

i really want to get an aftermarket light weight flywheel but worried my tranny won't be covered under warrenty after the new flywheel...

what worries me is that i needed a new tranny at 15k and (im thinking) i'll need another one around 30k

what do you guys think? will my tranny be covered with an aftermarket flywheel?

any imput will be greatly appreciated

Yes its covered and you wont need a new tranny if they replaced it once. They have changed the syncros with better ones

Hypothetically. well if your fly wheel was a direct cause of the failure of the tranny your warranty should be voided. Dealership has to prove that it was a cause.

how sure are you that they used better/stronger syncros?

and hypothetically, how can the flywheel damage anything in the tranny?

Dealership doesn't have to prove ANYTHING....they can just refuse to deal with you period, as an independent business. Your warranty is with Nissan.
Be nice to dealer if you want them to push the envelope with Nissan for you.
The Service manager can be your friend or ______________!

Anyway the weight of the flywheel is different so this affects not only clutch/tranny but the engine as well [rear bearing/seal and internal parts].

To avoid potential emotional stress [in the event of failure] why not wait until warranty expires to redesign major components.
