It started with a clicking sound only when you put into reverse and gas it.

Now, this particular clicking sound also appears during downshift (MM) or hard upshift.

Does anyone have similar clicking sounds? is it something that I should be worried about.

Yup, just noticed the same issue with my 03.5 5AT, 72,000 miles. Originally noticed the clicking only when I put it in reverse, now it's clicking all the time. Noticed especially when manually shifting.
I want to get this fixed ASAP. Don't like the way it sounds at all.
Hopefully someone has a clue as to what it is. I want to have an idea before I take it to the shop.

Other than this clicking, my G's still running strong with 72k on the odo.

72k miles..is a good number for that clicking..
mine only has like 30k miles under the belt and is already clicking lol

oh well, I would try to ask around and report back once i get any info =)

but at the same time, hope someone can chime in on this

Anyways, I'm having the same issue as the OP. Can anyone comment on the 5AT clicking when accelerating from a stop or reversing?? Not too comfortable with this noise. Thanks in advance.

Is the clicking actually coming from the transmission, or from the rear end-- sometimes it's hard to tell. The rear end is notorious for this issue and it's been handled by a simple regrease.

Mine has clicked for >100K. Just a slight clicking when I'm backing up or driving slowly, and I can hear it. Lots of drivers have had it done under warranty.

Do a search here, there have been entire threads devoted to the "clicking sound".
