Cool

This makes absoutly no sense to me.....

Logicallly, you should push up....to go up a gear, and pull down...to go down a gear.

Glad I have a 6MT.

Thanks Montara. I've been thinking about this myself since I got my G last week. My drag car is a reverse manual valve body, thus I pull down to shift on that and I was a bit leery about getting used to shifting up and then jumping into the drag car just to screw up and do the wrong thing. I don't think the motor in my drag car would last long if I upshifted @6500 RPMs pushing a 300 shot of nitrous...

I finally got around to trying this.

No go for me. The pins are in there far to tight. I was starting to break the wire coating even after wrapping the plyers with tape.

Oh well.

Glad a few people found it useful.

Back from the dead.

I just want to add that my 2003 5AT sedan with a July 2003 build date does not have the same wire color coding noted in the DIY. The connecter appears to be correct (10 sockets, same design), but the color scheme isn't remotely close. Since the colors were wrong, I was hesitant to swap wires 7 and 8. The wires on my 03 are pink and green. In the coupe FSM, they show green and green/red.

This comment may be a little off, but is there anything available to make the 5AT shift quicker...i have read about the grounding kits available and punching the metal contacts a little bit closer, but is there a real solution to make it shift faster....

Thanks

Miguel

PICTURES!

Is it JDM or something when the directions are reversed?

I was at the arcade one day (I'm 20 let me have my fun), and I noticed the JDM racing games tippy mode was reversed (Up is downshift, down is upshift) and it kept pissing me off. Logically it makes more sense for up to be up.
