Short Throw DIY??
If anybody could possibly post some pics of a DIY and installation a short throw. I figured all short throws are going to be installed all the same.. so anybody could chime in if possible. I thank all that chime in and could provide some info. The person i'm buying from doesn't have the og instructions if anyone was wondering. Once again.. THANKS!
You will get a sluight rattle if you do not tighten the shift **** enough. Tighten by hand, take a quick spin and if it rattles, go back and tighten it another turn.
AWESOME shifter! I love it! Easy to install. The biggest PITA is removing the stock shifter from the cup. The easiest way to do this is to but the shifter between a vise so the cup sits ontop but the shifter sticks through. Next, take a pice of wood and hold it ontop of the shifter (Be sure you the assembly in teh vise correctly because the shifter will only release from the cup in one direction). Then give it a good whack (on the wood so you dont damage the shifter). The shifter to fall out.
Regrease the **** out of the cup again and do the reverse for the RE shifter. After that's in, the only hard part is getting the rubber boot thats under the car, back on properly. Other than that, it's one bolt that attaches the shifter to the linkage and 4 for the rubber boot inside the car and 3 for the shifter I believe that you do from inside the car! VERY EASY!
