is my clutch slipping? =(

i recently got a new tranny, but no clutch.... im at 17k miles, and heres the symptom:

driving around 35, in 3rd gear, rpms are around 2500. WOT and the rpms go up normally to about 2600, then rocket to 3100, kinda idles around there, and slops down to 2700ish, and goes up normally as it should from there....... all under WOT, same thing happens in other gears after 3rd......but 3rd is most noticeable.

This just started happening just now, never experienced clutch slip, but now im worried =\

if your clutch was slipping, it will slip in all gears. a slipping clutch is like riding your clutch when you are on load, or without load, depending the seriousness of the slipping.

clutchs slip more the higher gear you are in, its more load on the car.

sometimes when the clutch is worked it is cause of your style of driving, i would try to drive around for a couple days and pretty much drop the clutch every time you shift. in first just barely give it gas, then go...

i have a used RPS flywheel and RPS max clutch i just took off my car i will be selling soon for pretty cheap. as long as you dont want to go over 500 hp one day, it should be fine...

i was just thinking.....are their any chances the car is running lean in that rpm range?......only thing i have done is Crawford cats and z-tube, reason i thought is cause my gas rc car sorta bogs like my car is doing in that range when its lean...

I have never experienced clutch slippage either. So it'll feel like your riding the clutch the whole time even when it's disengaged?

yep. if the clutch is kinda slipping, it feels like when u ride ur clutch in to begin your first gear, you have to slip it a little bit. but in this case it feels like that on all the loads. if your clutch is really bad, your car wont even move. your RPMs will just raise.

Ur tranny is blown or almost blown. Does the car shake violently when the RPMS go down in 3rd?

I would definitely bring it back to the dealers then and let them worry about it.
