Question Clutch master/ slave cylinder replacement

I've had a problem after some heavy winter driving, a sticky clutch. The clutch is fine, no slipping, no difficulty engaging gears, etc.

I informed one dealer that the cylinders were suspect. They told me I needed a new clutch, flywheel, and "pedal". Bull****, Fields Infiniti will never have my business again. $2300 my ***.

The second dealer was able to talk to an engineer who told them that the cylinders were the problem. Now, Infiniti is telling me that the cylinders aren't covered under warranty because they belong to the the manual drivetrain. Which apparantly IS NOT covered under warranty. They want $800 for the repairs.

I'm going to call corporate on monday to see if they can clarify the warranty issue, this should not be a wear and tear item at all... It should be drivetrain related.

Anyway, I can get both these parts new for less than $150. How difficult is it to access the slave cylinder?

Any info would be great.

Apparently, the stealership said that Infiniti of America doesn't include the master/ clutch cylinders under the 6MT drivetrain coverage.

Coorporate is closed on the weekends so I have to call myself on monday.

This is bull****. if I can DIY for less than a few hundred bucks I can save the time and headache of trying to find a dealership that will do the warranty work.

That is complete crap. A bumper to bumper is just that except for common items like clutch, tires, etc. I would fight this one to the end!

DEFINATELY not a wear item! If it is, ask them where in the manual does it have the replacement interval schedule. Idiots!

If you have to get a list together of people who have had it done under warranty and take to the dealer.

Not a bad idea, hopefully I don't have to go that far.

No, this has no effect on the friction point. The pedal sticks at the bottom below the friction point, sometimes it sticks when it travels back up to normal position. It's also intermittent, some days worse than others.
