hey guys,

I installed my re short shifter and my car is currently put away for the winter. I installed it myself.

now i have the directions through rogue's site on the install which i followed. my problem is Im not able to get into 5th gear but i can get in every other gear..

now i purchased a new socket control with the shoft shifter and I greased them up good before I actually put them in. any thoughts on what might be wrong?

what was wrong? just saw the thread or could have tried to help.

 

probably had the control plate (metal plate that doesn't allow you to accidently put a 6sp into reverse without pushing down) adjusted too far back and to the left, so the shifter couldn't make it into 5th, on the opposite side of the shift pattern diagonally.

 

^^nope. apparently its quite common for those of us to have trouble finding 5th because its not as far over ars stock.

so fi you plan on getting one just remember 5th is closer to 3rd
