Yes, when shifting into second is "clunks". When its cold outside it sometimes just grinds.

I tried, they said it was "normal". Normal doesn't mean there isn't something wrong, it just means a lot of people have the same problem. Try it out though. See what can be done.

for those people who are having issues shifting into second try changing out your tranny fluid to GM synchromesh. it's BOMB as hell. it's the tranny fluid they use in corvettes. i've put it in evo 8's, my previous car and i'm about to put it in my G. it makes shifting much smoother.

it depends IMO. my car makes a noise (as most cars do) when shifting from first to second (and other gears too cept it's probably too loud to hear from the road noise... and the exhaust note). it very well may be normal.

Thats the best way to put it; tempramental. Mine grinds on occasion on cold (below freezing). It always clunks though for the first 10-15 miles.

Having become a bit more accustomed to it, I figure if it gets worse I'll take it in but right now I've worked my mind around the problem. On days where the temps are above 60 it works fine and feels pretty good.

nghiars, its good to hear someone with some post replacement results. Thanks
