Transmission Fluid Flush

How many quarts of transmission fluid does it take to flush the transmission?

Varies. Not sure why. I just did mine at the dealership. Set me back $245.00 CDN.

The dealer told me they use 10.5 l when doing a flush. I drained and replace mine with only 3.5 litres.

I hope the dealer did a complete system flush for you then. Otherwise they are screwing you. How lame! This is taken directly from the G35 maintenance manual:

* When the color of the fluid coming out is about the same as the color of the new fluid, the replacement is complete. The amount of new transmission fluid to use should be 30 to 50% of the stipulated amount.
^^(page MA-20)

A/T fluid: Genuine Nissan Matic J ATF
Fluid capacity: 10.3 l (10-7/8 US qt, 9-1/8 Imp qt)

^^(page MA-21)
Note the 30 to 50% of total? Last two times they changed my A/T fluid, the used 5 and 4 liters respectively.
