Did a search.. no luck.

My MT (04 IP w/ 485xx miles) has started to amke a knocking noise in neutral. When i engage the cluch it goes away. release the clutch it starts to knock but not as loud. When i'm in first and release the clutch half way i can bearly hear it. This does not happen all the time. i took it to a mechanic and he said the it sounds like the main shaft is going bad. has anyone experince this problem?

 

If it is your stock clutch...it could be your throw out bearing..I get the same little chatter...

i have that same problem. How do you fix it? I just got my 60k servicing and complete engine and vehicle check...they replaced all the fluids, belts, filters, cleaned throttle body, tranny flush, rear dif. flush, clean injectors, etc...but the dealership did nothing about my knocking. A mechanic friend of mine told me to use fuel injection cleaner/octane booster and it went away immediately...but now its back. is there a permanent fix to it/

 

Replace your clutch/flywheel assembly.
